About Us

Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre (LRCC) is an independent charity and we have been providing services to support survivors of sexual violence for 20 years. From Spring 2025 we will no longer be a member centre of the formal Rape Crisis Scotland (RCS) Network. There is no change to our services as a result of this.

We will continue to deliver our services in Lanarkshire and work with partner agencies and communities towards our shared goal of eliminating violence against women.

We will continue to work collaboratively with all rape crisis centres in Scotland in our shared outcomes and work collaboratively with RCS as part of the 2 national areas of work that we are funded to deliver locally. These are the National Advocacy Service, supporting survivors who are considering engaging or are engaging with the justice process, and the National Prevention Programme, including workshop delivery in high schools, Equally Safe at School programme and community-based youth engagement on preventing sexual violence. We will continue to direct survivors to the evening National Helpline run by RCS and continue to feed into the RCS national campaigns including preventing sexual violence and improving experiences of survivors in the justice system.

LRCC has been supporting women and girls in Lanarkshire since 2004 and we continue to hold the same values since we were first established. We are committed to empowering women and girls in every aspect of their lives, amplifying their voices, upholding their rights to live free from harm and abuse and to champion free speech in our campaigns to prevent forms of male violence and sexual violence against women and girls.

We look forward to sharing more on our development work and our activities on our new website and through our social media platforms.
