LRCC is a voluntary organisation with Scottish charitable status (SC 036410) located in the centre of Hamilton with easy access to public transport.
We deliver emotional and practical support to women, and girls over the age of 12 years old where there are issues arising from all forms of sexual violence including rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse no matter how long ago it happened.
Women & girls attending the Centre have found it safe and non-threatening.
Aims & Objectives
- Provide free and confidential emotional and practical support services to women and girls (over 12 years of age), who have been raped, sexually assaulted and/or sexually abused.
- Promote increased awareness of the issues surrounding sexual violence and the situation of women and girls who have been raped or sexually assaulted/abused, to the general public.
- Raise awareness within specialised fields who work with or provide services for women and girls, for example health, education and social work services.
We work with Women to End Violence and Abuse.
It costs LRCC well over £100,000 per year to deliver our core services, so financial support is crucial to growth and sustainability. Therefore, we continue to work very hard at securing enough funds to sustain and develop service provision through the submission of funding applications to various trusts and charities, fundraising and encouraging donations.
We would like to acknowledge existing and previous financial support provided by the Scottish Government, North Lanarkshire Council, South Lanarkshire Council, Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland, The Allen Lane Foundation, Young Start, Children & Young Person Intervention Fund, Justice Fund, The Scottish Community Foundation, the Fundraising sub-group and the many individuals who have raised funds and made donations. We would also like to acknowledge support from some local businesses who provided donations and prizes for fundraising activities, to help LRCC deliver its services to the women of Lanarkshire.
This web-site was originally developed with financial support from The Russell Trust, The Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation and the proceeds of various fundraising activities.
Our gratitude goes to everyone for their continued support.
If you would like to help by making a donation to LRCC, you can do so by clicking on the local-giving button at the bottom of the page. Every single penny helps the centre to continue with its work.
