Social Media

One of the main focuses of the prevention work is social media and how we interact and communicate using it. Social media has many advantages such as, being able to chat easily with friends, sharing articles, videos, events, photographs and keeping in touch with and meeting people from all around the globe! However, being in contact with hundreds (or even thousands) of people brings with it potential risk.

Social media is such an integral fixture in the lives of young people, it is almost counter-productive to focus on placing restrictions and security measures on these sites. Instead, in our workshops we focus on encouraging healthy and safe use of social media, and utilizing social media for empowerment and education.
